What are Anabolic Steroids?
"Anabolic steroids" is the similar name for synthetic substances related to the male sex hormones (e.g., testosterone and other well known medicines). They promote the growth of skeletal muscle (anabolic effects) and the development of male sexual characteristics (androgenic effects) in both males and females. 
 The term "anabolic steroids" will be used throughout this report because of its similarity.

Natural anabolic steroids are hormones that promote healthy cell development and beneficial division of tissue and bone. They not only the reason for muscle tissue to grow but it can affect many organs as well. Testosterone is one of the most well known natural anabolic steroids that is necessary for continued cell development and better health in both female  and male.

Teenagers and young adults who take steroids can have even more serious steroids side effects. For example, teenagers who take steroids can end up not growing as tall as they would naturally because the steroids can close down the growth of bones. One of his more serious steroid side effects in teenagers is a suicidal attempts because taking steroids can affect the brain nerves, cause humor swings and absurd anger. Teenagers should not be given anabolic steroids in any situation.

Anabolic Steroid’s Side Effects:

However the steroids are used for remedial or other causes, they can make various many unwanted side effects.  These include:

•    hair loss and baldness
•    prostate cancer
•    liver damage (often reason by overdose of oral administration)
•    high blood pressure
•    increased total cholesterol levels
•    increased acne
•    excessive growth of oral gums

There are specific side effects in males.  These include gynocomastia which is the appearance of female characteristics including breast growth, sexual disfunction and infertility and reduction of the testicles (testicular atrophy).

In females, it increases body hairs, a deepening of the voice, an enlarge clitoris and a decrease in menstrual cycles. Adolescents can experience stunted growth, quickened maturation of the bones, hypergonadism, increased body hair and precocious sexual development.
